A Tribute to an Icon of Integrity – Prof. Is-haq Oloyede "Ọ̀sẹ́ Ọlọ́run, ó bá ojú mi jẹ o! Ọ̀sẹ́ Prof. Oloyede, ó bá ojú wa jẹ o!" Today, we celebrate and congratulate an extraordinary leader—Prof. Is-haq Oloyede—on the successful completion of his two terms as the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). We celebrate an icon of integrity, a philosopher of reality, and a bridge of truth. Above all, we thank Almighty God for granting him good health throughout his years of dedicated service. We pray that God will continue to bless him with long life, greater achievements, divine wisdom, and abundant prosperity. Amen. One quality that will always remain in my heart is his humility. Throughout his years in office, Prof. Oloyede never looked down on anyone. Whenever he addressed me, he always said, "Mr. Bello." Those simple words reflected the respect and dignity he gave to every individual, regardless of status. Many times he would say: «"Mr. Bello, can we look into this?" Or, "Emma, write it down."» Those words demonstrated his leadership style—calm, respectful, and solution-driven. I also sincerely appreciate Mr. Dami Bamiro, a man I regard as a school of knowledge. To me, he is the buffalo of computer knowledge. Together with the entire team, they stood like a strong fence against every external challenge. The transparency and accountability demonstrated by Prof. Oloyede inspired many of us to work with integrity. One remarkable lesson I learned from him was that leadership is about consultation. Prof. Oloyede rarely imposed personal opinions; he listened to people, considered collective decisions, and then communicated them with wisdom and fairness. There were occasions when I challenged him on certain issues. Rather than becoming angry, he would calmly say: «"Mr. Bello, your narration is good. Please go straight to the point. What exactly do you want?"» That gentle correction taught me discipline in communication and strengthened my confidence. To me, Prof. Oloyede is an extraordinary human being. He has the rare ability to manage difficult situations with patience, wisdom, and compassion. He never rushed to condemn or reject people. Instead, he always believed in reviewing issues carefully before making decisions. As the Director General of the Education Information Society of Nigeria (EDU INFO), I sincerely thank Prof. Oloyede for the opportunity, encouragement, and leadership he extended to us throughout his tenure. Our loyalty, admiration, and respect for you will remain for life. Thank you, Baba Alaponle. May your next chapter bring even greater impact to Nigeria, Africa, and the world. Maximum Respect! Signed: Mr. Lawal Bello Director General Education Information Society of Nigeria (EDU INFO)
